🛒 Three Tips On How To Crush Amazon Prime Day
Amazon's biggest day of the year is coming up, so it's important to start planning now to ensure its success.
First off, when is Prime Day?
Well it's not announced yet, but our best guess is July 23rd/24th, maybe the 16th/17th.
How to have a successful Prime Day? Below are three pillars to ensure success.
1️⃣ Define Success
An often overlooked point is defining success for your brand.
Prime Day sees a massive spike in traffic and buying intent, which can be leveraged in different ways.
Some brands choose to use Prime Day as a customer acquisition strategy, offering steep discounts and massive increases in spending to attract as many net new customers as possible, often at a loss.
Other brands use Prime Day as a profit-taking day to bolster their bottom line and support other channels. 💰
Ensuring a clearly defined efficiency target is key to knowing whether the day is shaping up to be a success or not.
Having a guiding star on Prime Day allows quick, strategic decisions to be made with the overall goal in mind. ⭐
2️⃣ Forecast Inventory
You can't make sales without inventory in stock so planning ahead is key.
Ideally stock will reach fulfillment centers not less than a month ahead of time, so aiming for roughly June 15th this year.
💡 The Pilothouse Amazon team suggests using your past sales data to influence how much inventory to send to Amazon.
If this is your first Prime Day, then depending on how aggressively you are discounting or promoting we have brands see 5-8x revenue over a typical day.
👉 As a backup for stock outs, consider setting up FBM (fulfilled by merchant) SKU's that you can switch on if necessary.
3️⃣ Get Ahead of It!
Success on Prime Day is built in the weeks and months leading up to Prime Day.
On the actual day, all you should need to do is put out fires, and actively monitor campaigns to ensure performance is on track and budgets aren’t capping.
Using our strategies and building up success before Prime Day, the clients below saw revenue increases of 530% and 730% over a typical July day. 🚀
The takeaways?
Optimize and polish up your Amazon listings! Spend time now reviewing your listing metrics, identifying the weak points, and fixing them.
Enroll in Deals/Prime Exclusive Discounts/Coupons or whatever promos you plan on running early to identify issues and have enough time to fix them through support.
From an advertising perspective, campaigns should be built, tested, and ready to scale.
Increase budgets the day before Prime Day, ensure you either have a plan to or have already increased your bids, and remove portfolio and campaign suite budgets to prevent reaching a spend cap without realizing it.
A lot more goes into Prime Day, but the above tips will help put you on the right path to success.
🚨 You Procrastinated. Campaign Launches Tomorrow…
It’s overwhelming to find inspiration for your next campaign when you have 12463 urgent items on your to-do list. 😅
That’s why Yotpo asked marketers from brands like OLIPOP, Ooni, and Cometeer to share the three best email or SMS messages they've received lately. 👀
Why? So you can get your dose of email inspiration by marketers, for marketers in one. 👏 single. 👏 email. 👏 The weekly send eliminates the need for you to go searching, screenshotting, and digging for inspo.
Marketers from brands like Hexclad, Brumate, Dagne Dover, and more have already signed up to receive Is Typing… to learn from the best in email.

🎁 TikTok Shares Father’s Day Campaign Content Ideas
Are you prepping your Father’s Day campaigns?
We are less than two weeks away, and TikTok recently shared how brands can make their Father’s Day campaign stand out!
Use these trending content ideas to generate more engagement and sales to your stores for those looking for gift inspo.
Here’s what’s trending on TikTok:
1️⃣ Dad Jokes: No surprise here, this is the perfect time to pull out your favorite dad joke. The cornier, the better, so your audience can lovingly sigh in exasperation.
Even better you can partner up with high-profile dad creators like Fit Dad CEO, who can help you deliver the punchline.
2️⃣ Father’s Day Gift Guides: This is a high-intent shopping period, so round up a few products that you think would make the perfect gift for dad and use different angles.
For example, what do you get your dad who says he doesn’t want anything? Top gift ideas for the dad who loves to go camping, etc.
👉 For the dad who loves wearing hats, we recommend these.
3️⃣ Dad Advice: Put together a TikTok campaign featuring dads or father figures who can dispense their best advice. Hit the street and ask dads for their best advice to create quick, scrappy content!
4️⃣ Father and Kids Memories: Share your favorite moment or experience with your dad. Brand founders can create content about how their dad has impacted their lives and business.
💡 When posting your content, don’t forget to include these hashtags predicted to make an impact this year:
#FathersDay #Dad #FatherLove #DadsofTikTok #DadJoke #GiftIdeas
