☀️ Make An End Of Summer Splash
Whether you are putting together a Labor Day sale or an end-of-summer blowout sale, here are some creative ideas for your next set of ads.
The Pilothouse team shares they are seeing these different ad types on social media:
1️⃣ Scrappy IG Stories postcard ads
This hotel ad pairs a beautiful background visual with a postcard message and handwritten font for a casual vibe that stands out.
It’s simple to put together but eye-catching!
2️⃣ Blurred Ads
Apparel brands like Aritzia are using blurred visuals in their sponsored Instagram carousel ads to entice viewers to click through and view the item on their website.
This is a great way to tease a product by showing the silhouette but not all of the details.
3️⃣ Website screen grab
Announce a summer sale on IG Stories by making it look like a screenshot of your collections page with marked-down pricing. Then add a lifestyle or product shot in the background.
This creative is super easy to put together since you’re leveraging existing assets on your website to create an ad.

🍪 How DEUX’s Comparison Chart Helps With Conversions
Are your online customers…indecisive? 🤔
If it takes a long time for first-time customers to convert, here’s how you can help them with their decision-making.
One way to help your customers during the decision-making phase is through a competitor comparison chart.
What’s a competitor comparison chart?
This visual gives a great breakdown of how your product stacks up against your competitors and helps customers understand your unique selling points.
👉 You can add this to your site’s homepage or PDPs to educate first-time customers about the brand.
Let’s look at this example from DEUX:
We love this comparison chart from the vegan cookie dough brand DEUX since it is to the point while still using DEUX’s cheeky brand voice.
They hone in on five main attributes: price, taste, less sugar and carbs, edible and bakeable, and better for you.
Then they compare their offering with others on the market ranging from healthy, unhealthy, and ‘claims it's healthy.’
From here, the brand highlights how they are a mid-range cookie dough brand, not the cheapest, but they do ‘check all the boxes’ and are the obvious winner. ✅
💡 We also love how they don’t shout out a competitor product directly but rather use generic icons. This brings more attention to the image of their DEUX product in this pink-on-white color scheme.
The takeaway?
Comparison charts are an effective way to explain how your brand is different through a visual aid and help with conversions.

Why is this happening? It may still be August, but customers are already searching for pumpkin spice-flavored products thanks to Starbucks rolling out their fall drink menu earlier than ever. 🎃
