🎧 Why You Should Test Catalog Ads
Are you running ads on Meta?
The Pilothouse Meta team is seeing catalog ads scale for multiple brands in the US. If you aren’t already running catalog ads in your account, it’s time to try them.
Catalog ads typically perform stronger with a more extensive product catalog as this gives Meta more variety of products to serve prospective customers, especially if you’re running catalog ads at the top of the funnel.
For one brand, the Pilothouse Meta team is seeing catalog ads generate a ROAS that’s 20% higher than single image & video ads. It’s also worth noting the difference in front-end metrics.
Catalog ad targeting can be highly relevant, resulting in lower traffic costs and 2x click through rate compared to standard image and video ads for this brand over a 30-day period.
The team is primarily seeing success running a product set with all products and running ads in a combination of Advantage+ Shopping Campaigns and a business-as-usual retargeting campaign.

👛 How VERAFIED Appeals To A Global Customer Base
VERAFIED is a premium accessories brand based in New York with an international customer base.
They pride themselves on being a 'slow fashion' brand and emphasize quality, so their chic Italian leather bags are seen as an investment.
The challenge? They cater to a global clientele and their products are at a higher price point so they need to make sure they don’t lose out on conversions.
Here are the Shopify apps they’ve enabled to not lose out on sales:
1️⃣ Geolocation: This app recommends the best country and language based on your customer's browser preferences.
Visitors can change their language preferences anytime for a seamless customer experience so there's no language barrier when they view product details or during the checkout phase. 🌎
2️⃣ Klarna: This 'Buy now, Pay later' plugin lets customers pay in monthly installments, which is great for high-priced items.
It offers visitors flexible payment options so you don't lose out on sales.
3️⃣ Ghost Retail: Their PDP pages include shoppable videos to add social proof and increase conversions.
This integration can turn any video into a shoppable video and on the VERAFIED site it shows how the product can be worn in multiple ways using a model and increases visitor time spent on the page.
4️⃣ Wishlist Plus: This app allows customers to save their favorite items to a wishlist without logging in.
Customers can also share their wishlist via email, text, and social media, positioning VERAFIED as a gifting product for high-intent holidays.
Seeing customer analytics, such as what items they are saving and favoriting, can also help with forecasting demand.

🌐 IN THE SOCIAL SPHERE
This satirical ad has been generating a ton of buzz online for its clever messaging. 👀
The backstory: Canadian customers have been boycotting the grocery chain Loblaws for hiking prices despite the high cost of living.
The subversive ad addresses the audience as 'peasants' with the tagline 'let them eat cake' as the solution to show how out of touch the grocery chain is.
