😍 How Oreo Leverages Personalization On Their Site
Oreo has recently made some big changes to its site...
After migrating to Shopify, the iconic cookie brand created a fun and modern DTC experience for customers to purchase customizable cookies while building brand affinity and increasing conversion rates.
Here’s how they did it:
Target the right keywords: As part of their SEO strategy, they targeted keywords like ‘personalized gifts’ to target holiday shoppers looking for unique items and getting more traffic to their site.
Grow mailing list: Visitors who click on the site are immediately greeted with a pop-up with a compelling CTA: ‘Get 10% off custom Oreo cookies’ if they share their email addresses. This is a great way for Oreo to retarget these customers later on for future events and product launches.
Easy to Find CTA: At first glance, it’s easy for customers to find what they are looking for since the animated gradient CTA button to customize cookies is at the top of the fold and easy to spot.
Easy to follow one-pager: From here, customers can enter the OreoID customization platform and select their desired creme filling, sprinkle color, and add an image plus their choice of packaging (either a gift bag or a clear bag for corporate events).
The landing page is easy to follow with tons of visuals. On the right hand side, customers can see in real-time their custom product comes to life.
Gamify the experience: Once shoppers finish customizing and hit the checkout button, they will be greeted with a shower of confetti over their personalized creation, giving customers that dopamine hit for a job well done and getting them even more excited to purchase.
The takeaway?
Plan to tweak your website copy in Q4 to appeal to holiday shoppers looking for unique and customizable gifts.
With the surge in traffic, this is an excellent opportunity to grow your mailing list and retarget those holiday shoppers later on.
