Starbucks is facing a critical issue this year. Global warming is wreaking havoc on its best-selling product: coffee.
Coffee prices are rising, and volatile weather can send Arabica bean prices even higher. 📈
The challenging scenario:
Brazil and Vietnam currently produce half of the world's coffee, but these countries have been devastated by extreme weather and droughts this year.
The extremely dry weather in Brazil has caused Arabica bean prices to skyrocket, the highest ever for Starbucks since 2011.
Many coffee brands are searching for new suppliers as coffee grows more scarce and expensive.
Luckily, Starbucks is focused on coming up with solutions to weatherproof its business. 💡
