Congrats, what a win! 👏👏👏
Selling all of your inventory during Black Friday is an amazing achievement. 🏆
But what happens when you sell out before BFCM is even over?
If demand outweighed supply, here’s a workaround from the Pilothouse team so you don’t lose out on potential sales on Cyber Monday and through the holiday season because that *one item* everyone wanted is now out of stock.
✅ Offer an alternate: If your bestseller is sold out, this is a great way to educate customers on how your other products can also meet their needs and align with their pain points.
💡Replace your order button with another CTA.
Now that online shoppers can no longer click ‘add to order’ on your product page, offer them an alternate action to take.
Set up a button with a CTA that says “Notify Me’ when back in stock. Or allow customers to pre-order the item and set expectations for the arrival date.
This is a great way to grab more customer emails for your list and you can follow up later when you have the item back in stock!
🛍️ Create a waitlist sign up form: Scarcity can create more demand. Buyers love getting first dibs on products that aren’t widely available. Take advantage of this interest and set up a waiting list to build out a list of potential buyers so you can target them again in the future.
Send out an email that says: “This item sold out in x seconds/minutes/hours but join the waiting list to get first access to our next restock!”
Let us know if you’ve used any of these solutions as part of your BFCM sell out strategy.
