Good morning,
Good news: Universal Music Group and TikTok have reached a new music licensing agreement.
After the three-month feud, the new partnership will allow users to finally add songs by artists like Drake, Ariana Grande, and Bad Bunny to their latest uploads. Previous videos using these artist songs will be unmuted. 🎵
For brands that use TikTok influencers and affiliates as part of their marketing strategy, this means your creators can potentially reach a wider audience with these popular songs.

Jennie from BLACKPINK collaborated with Gentle Monster for the third time, and we think this is the most impressive collection yet.
The Jentle Salon Collection does a great job of creating an irresistible product offering to Gen Z ahead of the summer season.
What’s in the collection?
The innovative eyewear brand collaborated with the K-pop star on a fun collection featuring seven frame styles. However, the collection's highlight is the detachable charms, which make their sunnies more fun to style and encourage customers to get creative.
The additional decorative elements also make for an easy upsell. 💡
Customers can choose from almost a dozen designs at various price points.
Why this works so well:
There’s a big focus on customization. With these detachable charms, users can easily swap out different trinkets according to their mood and preference to show off their individual style.
All the charm designs are thoughtfully curated. The brand offers charms that are on trend. Bows capitalize on the coquette trend, while the capybara charms (Jennie’s favorite animal) have been an internet sensation thanks to the viral song Capybara taking off on TikTok. 🎶
There’s also a cost-savings element. Customers can purchase charms at a lower cost rather than buying another pair of sunglasses while creating multiple looks.
The takeaway?
Gentle Monster’s latest collaboration focuses on Gen Z’s preferences and pain points to create a standout product.
The Jentle Salon collection quickly sold out, but the brand plans to restock soon.

Rafael from the Pilothouse Google team explains: "80% of the accounts I'm auditing are overspending on branded search. Most of the time, if your SEO is very good, you will own those two to three organic listings underneath that branded ad. So why are we spending money on an ad when people will just click the free version directly below?"
In this podcast, we cover:
