Forget tech stack for a second, we wanna know what’s in your desk drinks stack. 👀
Good morning,
Google Ads will roll out a new update starting March 11th with the goal of saving advertisers money. 💰
Any ad campaigns created at least 13 months ago that haven’t received any impressions in over a year will be paused automatically.
But don’t panic, you can still turn campaigns back on if needed. Google hopes this tweak will help advertisers use their budgets more effectively so ad spend is focused on top performing ads.
Here’s what you’ll find in today’s DTC:
You’re reading this newsletter along with new subscribers from: SupplyPike, SnapCab, and MyPocketSkill. 👋
Retention is the theme of 2024 — Brands are hyper focused on retaining and maximizing revenue from current customers. 👀
Made In, the restaurant quality cookware brand, was no different. They were using separate platforms for their email, SMS, and review capture and needed to find a way for their data to work together so they could optimize their omnichannel approach and tease out extra revenue.
By consolidating these three channels with Klaviyo, Made In was easily able to: 👇
Made In unlocked 26% growth in AOV, 66% reduction in unsubscribes, and added an additional 17% in SMS revenue all in their FIRST QUARTER of switching. 📈
Evaluating where to build is daunting… Turn to the platform already trusted and proven by 135k ecom brands. 😌

AI is all the buzz and the Pilothouse Meta team has been testing the waters by using ChatGPT copy in headlines, ad copy, page copy, and more.
Here are the results from a recent headline test using ChatGPT headlines
With this test, the AI headlines had slightly stronger front-end metrics when looking at link CTR but the human written headlines had a better CPA and ultimately drove more purchases for the brand. 📈
While we recommend giving AI headlines and copy a try, tread carefully and make sure to proofread!
AI can generate ad copy more quickly, but there can still be glaring errors.
This is Meta’s AI-generated copy for a home goods brand that doesn’t sell couches or vacations. 😅
So while AI is great for getting those creative juices flowing you will need to have a set of human eyes on it before turning those ad campaigns live.
