💡 Beat The Tariffs! Build Solidarity and Increase Cash Flow
Brands need to make some tough decisions right now, but there’s also a big Q2 opportunity here.
Tariffs are top of mind for consumers and we are seeing businesses across different product categories capitalizing on the uncertainty with ‘Beat The Tariff’ sales.
Customers are looking to stock up on items before shortages occur.
Not only do these sales boost solidarity against the growing negative sentiment against the escalating global trade war, but it is a great way for businesses to improve their cash flow for turbulent times ahead.
Here are some tariff promotions we’ve been seeing:
Jewelry brand Ana Luisa hosted a sale on select items, giving customers the opportunity to shop.
In their messaging, they also mentioned they are working hard on maintaining ‘the exceptional quality and craftsmanship’ their customers deserve.
💡 This reminds customers that even though the cost of the product is high, the quality makes the purchase worthwhile.
Lomi is reminding customers about their tariff sale via SMS and encouraging customers to act now.
“We’ve done our best to keep Lomi 2 prices steady despite tariff pressures, but we can’t promise that will always be the case. As a thank you for sticking with us, you can save up to 40% with our Beat The Tariffs Sale.”
💡 This type of promotion creates urgency while being transparent about future price increases.
Spice company Burlap and Barrel posted on Instagram that they altered their spring cleaning messaging to an impromptu tariff sale with up to 20% sitewide.
They shared with customers that they will not be raising prices since they believe in supporting local farmers and will instead extend their sale to help with cash flow.
The result? Burlap and Barrel ended up having their biggest sales day ever, and the number of orders was 7 times the average a few days after their sales push.
This motivates customers to support the brand since they feel like they are part of an important cause.
The takeaway?
Consumers will appreciate the transparency and opportunity to shop at lower prices before price hikes are implemented.

🌐 IN THE SOCIAL SPHERE
Is Temu no longer an ad competitor?
Last year, Temu’s exorbitant ad spend on platforms like Google Shopping and Meta raised CPMs and caused huge headaches for U.S. advertisers.
But no longer it seems.
Temu slashed ad spend due to tariffs and has now lost its number 1 shopping store position on the Apple App Store.
The result? Meta’s ad business could take a $7 billion hit this year due to Temu slashing their ad budget.
