💡 Amazon’s New Coupon Fee Structure
It looks like Amazon is changing how it charges fees for coupons.
If your brand uses them as part of your pricing and promotions strategy, you must plan ahead.
Current Coupon Fees (Until June 1, 2025)
New Coupon Fees (Effective June 2, 2025)
What does this mean for Amazon sellers?
Pilothouse’s Amazon team explains that the impact here varies depending on the price of your product (specifically if you are over or under $24 -> $.60/2.5% = $24).
For lower priced products coupon fees actually will decrease slightly, however for higher priced items the 2.5% is a significant increase.
Example 1: A $20 Product with a $5 Coupon
👉 Net impact: Fees decrease slightly for lower-priced products, but now you must pay the $5 upfront.
Example 2: A $100 Product with a $20 Coupon
👉 Net impact: Fees increase significantly for high-ticket products. If your margins are tight, this could make coupons much less profitable.
This change makes strategic coupon use even more critical.
If you are not already evaluating how coupons impact profitability, now is the time.
Make sure your pricing strategy still works in 2025.
