Do you have customers shopping your site during the holiday season but are not seeing any conversions?
Sounding off a cut off alarm for gifts is a great way to get those orders flowing.
This is a great tactic to get last minute shoppers to act fast and make a decision. 🏃
Letting them know that they only have x days left to shop adds more urgency so you can start seeing those orders come in.
When should my cut off date be?
Brands usually aim for early or mid-December but it depends on the shipping method and location. But beware of bad weather and backed up carriers which can cause delays.
A simple formula to follow ➕ 🤓
Calculate your lead time (from the time an item gets ordered, packed, and ready to be shipped) to the transit time (time it takes for a carrier to reach its intended destination) so you can figure out what cut off date works best for your needs.
💡 Shipping Tip: If you have different dates for domestic and international shipping make that clear in your copy so no one is confused or disappointed.
For best practices, you can also include a disclaimer letting customers know that getting in orders earlier is better since carriers are notoriously backed up during this period.
Here’s how you can word your website banners and email creatives.
For your subject line, keep it simple. Less text helps convey urgency.
