🥑 Chipotle and Strava Challenge Users To Get Fit
Chipotle brings back its City Challenge campaign to hold people accountable for their fitness goals this year.
The Mexican fast food chain expanded its partnership with fitness app Strava to get people across North America and Europe to engage in some friendly competition. 🏃
How it works:
The ‘City Challenge’ campaign has 25 Chipotle Segments (trails created by the Strava community) on the Strava app.
Users can compete with each other by chasing the fastest time on the leaderboard, and the fan that completes the segment the most amount of times will achieve Local Legend Status and be awarded Lifestyle Bowls for a year.
Competing cities can track their progress on Chipotle’s site through the City Challenge heatmap.
The winning city will earn boasting rights and also a BOGO entree offer.
And that’s not all…
The fast food chain will start an SMS activation on Quitter’s Day (the day most people give up their New Year’s Resolution) and rename it as ‘No Quitter’s Day.’
Chipotle invites fans to join their motivational text message community ‘Goals, Gym, Guac’ to keep everyone accountable.
Why this campaign works so well:
Creates a fun and memorable experience: This strategic partnership makes it fun to achieve your fitness goals and provides a tangible reward. Who can turn down free food?
Leverages a micro-holiday: By rebranding Quitters Day to No Quitter’s Day, Chipotle keeps its community motivated all month long.
Promotes IRL connections: Chipotle’s SMS activation is a great way for fans to have an ‘accountability buddy’ while getting rewarded with Chipotle’s healthy lifestyle bowls.

Want your call to action button to stand out?
Turns out the color you pick matters.
The top three performing CTA colors are blue, green, and red.
Pilothouse shares that red, blues, and greens are primary colors that in most cases will stand out on a screen versus more muted colors.
However, brands should also take into consideration their background colors.
While a white background and blue CTA button create a clear contrast, adding a blue CTA button on a blue background will render it invisible and cause your click-through rate to plummet.
🌐 IN THE SOCIAL SPHERE
Even though a possible U.S. TikTok ban is only a few days away, TikTok wants advertisers to keep spending, promising payments will be refunded if a shutdown does occur.
