Are you struggling to convert customers on your PDPs?
Here are some simple tips on improving your product detail pages so that customers feel compelled to buy.
1️⃣ Top-load the product page with value. Many users won’t scroll down to the bottom of the page, so make sure all of your important information is at the top of the fold.
2️⃣ Diversified Image Shots: Users spend a lot of time viewing your image gallery, so include different graphics here and some text to easily explain the benefits, ease of use, etc.
3️⃣ Authentic product-focused testimonials: In addition to having a functional product, relate it back to how this product improved their life and solved a crucial pain point.
Don’t hide these reviews at the bottom of the page!
4️⃣ Clear sizing and product variants: If you offer multiple sizes or color variants, showcase those on your PDP.
👉 This is especially important in the apparel category. Calling out if an item is ‘true to size’ or if customers need ‘to size down’ is a surefire way to help them make purchasing decisions and reduce returns.
5️⃣ A big, clear CTA button: Test this CTA button on desktop and mobile to ensure it renders correctly. Don’t make it difficult for customers to find.
6️⃣ Take the opportunity to cross-sell: Use the area below your CTA button to promote additional or complementary products that can raise AOV.
7️⃣ Keep in mind that there are first-time customers here: Give them reasons and assure them you are a credible store with badges like Free Returns, Free Shipping, and other USPs.
8️⃣ Build out an FAQ: Handle any potential roadblocks in your PDP for users who are hesitant about buying due to the return process, warranty coverage, etc.
The takeaway?
Don’t bury important product information at the bottom of your PDP page.
Put all your valuable information at the top and make sure your CTA button is near the top of the fold for quick conversions.
