💡 Instagram’s Edits App Launches Soon
Instagram is launching a new video editing app called Edits.
This standalone app provides content creators with advanced editing tools and professional-grade video customization to compete with other popular editing tools like CapCut.
However, Instagram Head Adam Mosseri stressed that Edits is more than a video editing app. It is “a full suite of creative tools.”
Here’s what we know so far about Edits and its features:
👉 Reels created with Edits will have a ‘Made with Edits’ label on the video. This is applied to Reels posted directly from Edits to Instagram.
Some Instagram users have spotted this in IG when posting Reels: “Reels made with Edits are optimized for high-quality playback on Instagram.”
Mosseri explained that new features will be tested in Edits before being rolled out to Instagram and Threads.
The takeaway?
Edits will be a great way for creators and brands to elevate their video creations and a testing ground for new features.
Our prediction? Although Instagram hasn’t expressed this outright, using Edits and posting directly to Instagram may give you an edge with the IG algo as they try to get more users to test the video editing app.
Edits is set to launch on March 31st. Will you be testing it out?

👇 Launching A New Brand? Read This
If launching a new product or brand seems daunting, you’d be surprised how cookie-cutter a successful launch strategy can be.
The Pilothouse team shares the equation that has worked time and time again for DTC brands launching in the last year:
1️⃣ Create Hype and Tease Content
First, you need to create a hype machine. There are different ways to go about this.
One option is to get the product into the hands of as many influencers as possible (whether micro or macro influencers) and get them to create quality UGC.
Then, use this valuable content in your pre-launch strategy.
Having social proof before you launch ensures that you’ll have a successful launch day.
Another method is posting strong organic video content.
Content can include quick snapshots of product lines and SKUs that make users stop scrolling.
The trick is to get users to pause the video or save it, which allows for greater organic growth.
2️⃣ Grow Your Customer List
While the hype is building up for the new collection, funnel every user into a lead generation effort.
Capture emails and phone numbers so you can communicate with customers regularly.
👉 Give audiences early access to product drops. This will help pad up your retargeting pool for current and future launches.
3️⃣ Keep Launches Limited
Limit the number of products available when launching. Continue this trend when restocking and dropping new collections.
Why? Because scarcity creates long-term growth over always-available and heavily discounted products.
The perception of scarcity makes the value appear more valuable.
Brands like Set Active, Rhode, and David Protein have all hit seven figures during brand launches and have followed this exact equation above.
🌐 IN THE SOCIAL SPHERE
Joe Welstead, co-founder of Drink Oshun, shared a top-performing scrappy ad on X.
The ad features the product and a screenshot of Instagram comments to add social proof and make the image more eye-catching.
⚡ QUICK HITS
🚀 Stop guessing, start scaling. Pilothouse and Songfinch struck a chord and scaled to $3M+ in monthly revenue. Meet the team behind the scale strategy.
